On Sunday, November 3rd, Friends of Sheba Medical Center, held its annual gala at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, honoring U.S. Ambassador Jamie D. McCourt for her humanitarian efforts, Ruth and Michel Steinberger for their 30 plus years of service to Friends of Sheba and Sheba Medical Center, and Mimi Paley and Evan Paley for their commitment to Friends of Sheba’s young leadership group, Sheba 2.0.
Over 600 guests attended the event, which raised more than $6,500,000 for Sheba Medical Center in Israel. Chaired by Patti and Steve Soboroff and Shoshana and Parham Zar, the Gala celebrated the high standard of medicine, technology and research that Sheba Medical Center represents. The evening featured a keynote presentation from Dr. Talia Golan, Medical Director of Sheba’s Pancreatic Cancer Program. Dr. Golan addressed her new pancreatic cancer treatment breakthrough, which made international news headlines earlier this year and its global impact. Dr. Golan was recently named one of the 50 most influential women in Israel by Forbes Israel. Yoav Hadas, a patient in Dr. Golan’s pancreatic cancer clinical trial who is now in full remission, was also in attendance.

Lili and Jon Bosse; and Parham Zar, President of Friends of Sheba, and his wife Shoshana Zar.
