“Judy Flesh Rosenberg is a community leader. Her passion is working with and advocating for education and welfare for children in underserved areas and for empowering women to achieve their goals. Prior to volunteering in the community she was a consultant in nonprofit administration and development. Her clients have included Partners in Care Foundation, Aviva Family and Children Services and others.
Before becoming an independent consultant, Judy was Director of Major Gifts for the Fulfillment Fund. The Fulfillment Fund is a private nonprofit organization that provides nearly 3,000 children with guidance and support through a variety of programs and services, including mentoring. Judy has been personally involved with mentoring students and works with the administration and with students at Foshay Learning Center in South Los Angeles. At Foshay, she has worked to help support and expand their award winning Robotics Team.
Prior to doing nonprofit work, Judy was Manager of Pharmacy Relations for Merck Sharp and Dohme in West Point, Pa. She was recruited for this newly created position in 1975 and was responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies for pharmacists. Judy worked as a clinical pharmacist at Cedars Sinai Medical Center after graduating from Pharmacy School.
Judy earned her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy and her Master of Science in Higher Education from USC’s Rossier School of Education. She also did Post Doctoral training at USC School of Medicine.
She is active in many community organizations including member of Board of Directors of Jewish Vocational Services, Co-Founder of the Women’s Leadership Network ( WLN)- a program of JVS that helps women in career transition in all of JVS’s programs including Vets First, Co Founder of WLN Women’s Conference, Cedars Sinai Medical Center- Institutional Review Board (IRB), The Jewish Federation (mentor in the Community Leadership Program) and others.
She has been actively involved with the California Governor’s and First Lady’s Conference for Women since 1992 and served on the steering committee, scholar’s program and Minerva Awards Nominating Committee. She served on the State Commission for the Status of Women.
She was a member of the USC Alumni Board of Governors, USC Host Committee for the Women’s Conference and is currently on the Board of Councilors for USC School of Pharmacy and for USC Civic Engagement.
She has received many awards for her community work.
